deliver much ROI unless it’s tied to a vi-
sion. That alignment doesn’t just happen.
It takes a portfolio-minded culture that
empowers people to stay hyper-focused
on strategy, according to speakers and
attendees at the 2015 PMO SymposiumSM.
The “one thing a leader will not be
forgiven is for having a bad vision or a
bad strategy,” SAP CEO Bill McDermott
told 800 senior-level attendees in the
symposium’s opening keynote.
Leaders must also know how to inspire
others to act. “Vision is not only what
you see,” said Mr. McDermott.
“It’s what you feel and it’s what you
make other people feel.”
